1/26/06 - Firestone's - Frederick, MD

Man, Frederick was DEAD tonight. I don't know if it was the cold or what, but one of the bartenders said that Monday was the official most depressing day of the year, as determined by some British psychologist who apparently decided we needed to know that. The good news is that those who were out and about seemed to come and listen to the music.

The other good news is that I had my first "girls dancing on the bar while we're playing" experience. A few groups of young folks came in towards the end of the night and were dancing and singing and next thing you know I look up and there's two or three of them getting down on top of the bar. It was a big bar, too. What a grand sight. I'll post some pictures in the coming week.

The stage dynamic had some funny twists tonight also. Deater was as giddy as a schoolgirl and Randy was afraid he had caught some virus going around his work where you can violently erupt from either or both ends. Tension was high.

On the downside, Chris lost his special Vegas Zippo lighter near the end of the gig and was totally bummed about it. If anyone has any info on its whereabouts, please go to the website and send us an email. We are only concerned for its safe return.

This evening I'll be playing a solo happy hour gig in D.C. at the Washington Plaza Hotel in The International Bar. Should be an adventure...

I wasn't *that* bummed about it. I was more bummed about having to go to work 6 hours later... I'm paying for it now.....
