Another blast at Bushwaller's. Tonight was the supposed "Great Guinness Toast," where people around the world were simultaneously toasting a pint of Guinness at 11pm to try to break the biggest toast record. Certainly a good night to be playing music in an Irish bar, although I'm not sure half the people knew about the toast. But they were more than happy to join in...
We busted out a few new tunes tonight and it didn't take long for the wildness to ensue. I'm talking shots in mid-song, stickers everywhere and on everyone (I'll be posting pictures tomorrow on the website), and of course girls on stage with tambourines. Double tambourine action tonight, actually. LOTS of lovely ladies. In fact, lots of TALL lovely ladies. I felt a little dwarfed tonight amongst these tall beauties, but that was totally fine by me.
Overall a fantastic crowd. There were a lot of friendly people who said some very kind things during our breaks and in between songs. And we certainly appreciated the "One More Song" chants at the end of the night and were sorry that we had to end our magical evening together. Personally, I could've stayed until the sun came up.
I've said it quite a few times before, but I have to say it again: What a great time it is playing with these guys. I thought we had a really good vibe tonight and I was having the time of my life. We just seem to gel so well. It's hard for me to explain how cool it is playing with Ken, Chris, and Randy and the chemistry that's present at some of these shows. Not to mention how much fun we have just talking and screwing around on/off the stage.
A lot of friends and fans came out to support us, so let me give some quick shout outs. Here are some people that were at the show tonight who continually support us and are very near and dear to the FLB (in no particular order): Lynn and Cindy, Terry, Scott, Ashley Marie, Amanda, Rona, and Miguel (sp?). Who'd I forget? To all the other fun people that rocked out with us tonight--you guys rule! You all are really what makes this "job" so much fun.
It's up to Harrisburg tomorrow night to a place called Pepper's on the outskirts of the city. We've never played there and I haven't even seen the place, so it should be an adventure. Here's hoping for another good night. My ears are still ringing. Rock and roll, man...
